My concept is a new lingerie brand that breaks societal norms that lingerie should only be worn for the bedroom. The lingerie designs can be worn for both as outerwear but also in the bedroom promoting multi- use. The brand is all about empowerment and how individuals can express themselves confidently by incorporating lingerie into their everyday wardrobe.
Just wanted your guys opinions and suggestions on how to make the concept better?
I do not want to be empowered by my lingerie, I want to be hoisted, pushed and flattened in all the right places but make it sexy, not something a grandma would wear. If it’s designed as outerwear, make it comfortable to move in, eat in and wash well (I would inevitably drop something down it). And lastly, real models please and styling suggestions when pairing with outerwear!
What type of lingerie are you imagining? There’s so many different aesthetics and from your post and post history, I have a hard time envisioning your concept. You use a lot of buzzwords, but what does it actually all mean? For example, what exactly is “empowered” lingerie?
Maybe do some full-size pieces? I LOVE lingerie but I don't show a lot of skin.
I'm thinking luxurious dressing gowns, bodysuits with lots of beautiful details, maybe even matching shoes?
Hopefully this isn't too harsh, but it feels like you're just throwing around a lot of trendy words. As someone else mentioned- how exactly is the lingerie empowering me? As far breaking societal norms, depending on where you're looking at lingerie as outerwear is definitely not a new concept. It was a huge trend years ago, and has either become an acceptable way of dressing in more, shall we say, open minded areas or has already been rejected by conservative areas. Edit- last nitpick. You describe being able to wear lingerie as outerwear or in the bedroom as "multi-use". First, I really wouldn't consider thag multi-use. You're still using it for one thing, as something to wear. You're just wearing it in different scenarios, so at most I would call that multi-occasion. Second, it seems like you're wanting wanting make lingerie that is both implicitly for sexual activity as well as wearing out and about. Those are two very different scenarios. How is the lingerie going to be suitable for sexual activity while also being something that I can comfortably (and legally) wear in public?
Not to sound like a Debbie Downer, but this sounds a lot like Fleur du Mal and several other lingerie brands out there. From your post, I can’t exactly envision how it’s going to stand out in the competitive lingerie market.
Providing more context on your aesthetic, who your target audience is, how you’re going to accomplish this, and which practical details you’re going to include to make your lingerie practical for everyday life (washability, materials, convertibility, etc.) would be helpful!
